Children’s Choir

The Children’s Choir consists of the Sunday School children of St. Mary’s Church, Bambalapitiya. Children are selected through an audition process to ensure a high standard of musical ability and commitment. The choir primarily sings for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass, which is designated as the Children’s Mass, creating a spiritually uplifting and engaging atmosphere for young worshippers and the congregation. In addition to their regular participation in Mass, the choir plays a significant role in special church celebrations such as the Nativity Play, First Holy Communion service, and Confirmation services. They also undertake all musical responsibilities at Sunday School events, including retreats, Christmas carols, and other religious and cultural programs. Through their dedication and harmonious singing, the Children’s Choir not only enhances the liturgical experience but also fosters a sense of unity, discipline, and spiritual growth among its members.
